[Weekly Newsletter] Called to be Holy – Easter and more!

When was the last time you sat down and thought about what it is you truly believe? It’s not something we naturally think about. In fact, we usually go about our day not really giving much thought as to why we believe what we believe. We are called to live out our lives for the Kingdom of God by helping more people find true life in Jesus Christ. The church is a community of believers who are working together to create an atmosphere of showing people the church is a safe place, a place to belong, worship, grow, serve and discover God. The eternity of people’s lives is hinged on the church members doing their part in showing people the love of God.

What is your life purpose?

Why do you exist? It’s a fundamental question, but we too often find ourselves asking, ‘what is my purpose?’ God has called us with a holy calling, to live life as if he were coming back today. But what is it that God has called us to do/be? We have been in this series called, “Creed: What do you believe?” We’ve looked at God the Father and learned that nothing is too hard for him. Whatever we go through in life, we can be assured that God is in control and is a perfect God. He is our Father and wants to bring heaven on earth. Nothing is too difficult for him. Because we have placed our trust and faith in Jesus Christ, we have been given the most precious gift, life. The question we must come to terms with… Who do you say Jesus Christ is? The bible has one continuous … Read More

What are you worrying about? – Weekly Update

Life is full of worry, doubt, and frustration. But one thing is certain, God. This past Sunday, we started a new series called, CREED. This series is designed around the Apostles Creed. If you missed last Sunday, you can get caught up here. It doesn’t matter if you turn on the national or local news, look at your Facebook newsfeed or talk with your friends, people are lost, confused and scared. There is hopelessness in people’s eyes and there is only one who can fill that empiness–Jesus Christ. We find in the Gospel of John, a man named Nicodemus came to Jesus by night and asked, “How can a man be born again?” Jesus’ answer was profound, yet simple. “No one has ascended into heaven, but he who came down from heaven, the Son of Man, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” In other words, … Read More

Are you ready for the new year?

Now that we are a week into our new year, things are beginning to settle down. The hustle and bustle of holiday shopping is over, vacations are over and kids are back in school. But one thing is for certain, it’s easy to forget where we’ve been and where we’re headed. Think about what you went through in 2016. Think about the plans you have for this coming year. Maybe you’re wanting to start that exercise program, or read several books this year. Maybe you want to do something new for your family and take them places they’ve never been. Life is full of surprises, but when we place God in the center of our adventures, he’ll make sure that he’s ever present and allows us to see his grace when things go south. The grace of God is more than just salvation and unmerited favor of God. … Read More

It’s a New Day for a New Year.

2016 is fastly wrapping up. For some, this has been a great year, filled with victories, new jobs,  and hope. For others, it was a year filled with loss, frustrations, and failures. But one thing is certain, a new day is coming. Luke 1:78-79;  “A new day will dawn on us from above             because our God is loving and merciful. He will give light to those who live in the dark     and in death’s shadow. He will guide us into the way of peace.” When we take a look behind us, knowing where we’ve been, we can have hope that tomorrow will be bright. The story hasn’t been written yet. The idea of tomorrow is placing trust and faith in something we don’t fully understand. When we place our trust in God we are inviting him to guide us in our journey of life. The world is a dark place … Read More

Celebrate the true gifts of Christmas this season.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year—or so the old song goes. Yet we have to admit that it doesn’t always feel that way. We can all rattle off a list of the reasons why we feel a twinge of stress or sadness mixed with happiness or excitement when the carols start playing in every public setting. Hectic schedules, rampant materialism, and reminders of personal wounds are just a few of the reasons. Whether you are the person who is ready to relax and savor the season because you did all your shopping and preparations months ago (not likely) or the person who dreads the busyness, responsibilities or loneliness that steal your joy this time of year (much more likely), the Christmas season offers a unique opportunity to experience God’s love and grace in the midst of real life. Christmas can still truly give us a taste of … Read More

The Reason for the Season.
